Putting the game on pause

Visited McHaffie’s Flea Market yesterday. For anyone with a love for antiques and retro/vintage items, there is no better place to spend a gorgeously sunny, cool, breezy Sunday morning.

First stop was Off-The-Wall Retro to buy a West German ‘fat lava’ vase. Owners Gordon and Sherry have gorgeous retro decor items at fantastic prices.

As always, I was on the lookout for anything that would make a great blog post. The sentiment on this gentleman’s T-shirt made me smile, and Ben, the gentleman in question, was kind enough to let me take his photo for this blog.

An important reminder that life online can be paused. Thanks Ben! 🙂

The 21st-century lifestyle makes it far too easy to spend far too much time staring at a screen. The increase in people who work from home, new online pursuits discovered during lockdown and lockdown itself has made us too reliant on technology.

The sentiment on Ben’s shirt is a great reminder to step away from the glowing screen and be present in the moment.

Especially now that most COVID restrictions have been lifted, and summer is literally just hours away…consider this a gentle reminder to get.out.there. Pause your digital life.

Go for a walk, do some gardening, visit friends and family, visit a flea market. Make the most of the time you have, because the game of real life is to be played, and cannot be put on pause.

Thanks, Ben, for inadvertently providing the inspiration for this post!

That’s all for this week, folks. Take care.
